The operation of a diaphragm valve is straightforward, similar to a pinch clamp valve. The actuator connects the elastic diaphragm through a molded diaphragm stud.
When the operator desires to close the valve, they apply pressure and/or rotation to the actuator, causing the diaphragm to seal against a solid dam, effectively shutting off the valve.
The actuator moves up and down the valve stem. As the actuator goes up, it causes the diaphragm to rise. When the actuator descends, it presses the diaphragm against either the contoured base or the weir, depending on the valve’s design.
